Power monitoring

Understand energy consumption by tracking actual equipment power usage.

Shoestring’s power monitoring solution saves money by identifying power-hungry equipment. It empowers companies to gain insights into their energy consumption patterns by tracking actual equipment power usage. This contributes to sustainability goals and provides more accurate reporting on the carbon footprint of parts and products.

The challenge

Do you have a clear picture of energy usage in your company?
Power monitoring keeps track of:

Which equipment uses the most energy

Whether your machines use power out-of-hours (phantom load)

Whether new, more efficient machines would save power and money

Which parts, products or operations have higher energy usage

After using Shoestring’s power monitoring solution, companies typically achieve:

A reduction in energy usage and bills

Contributions to sustainability goals

More accurate reporting on the carbon footprint of parts/products

How the solution works

Use the power monitoring starter solution to visualise live current, apparent power and active power, as well as historic power and the energy consumption of your electrical equipment. Using a current sensor, which clips around the AC wire of the device you are monitoring, the data is displayed in an easy-to-read dashboard and can be stored and analysed over time. The solution is simple to set up and use.

Power monitoring at PIL Membranes

With energy costs rising, PIL Membranes were keen to start monitoring and optimising the power consumption of their machinery using low-cost technology – here’s how Shoestring provided the solution.
